Buddy Bag Foundation
Karen Williams OBE founded the ‘Buddy Bag Foundation’ after a visit to Australia in 2014. She was inspired by an article about The Alannah and Madeline Foundation which have delivered more than 50,000 Buddy bags since 2007 to children in care in Australia. On returning to the UK she discovered a huge need for Buddy bags so the Buddy Bag Foundation was set up.
The Buddy Bag Foundation was created for all children who enter emergency care after fleeing violent situations at home. The bags provide these children with a few essential items that help to make the transition into emergency care a little easier. They restore a sense of safety and security into a child’s life during a traumatic time and as a foundation help children on their steps to recovery.
A buddy bag is a backpack that contains all the essential items a child may need. These include toiletries, pyjamas, socks and underwear. They also include items such as a book, a photo frame and a teddy bear.
Green Eye Productions Academy have donated over 100 t-shirts to this foundation. Robert Siagi and Anita Guest volunteered their time to pack these t-shirts into the Buddy Bags in one of their venues in Sutton Coldfield. We as a company are delighted to be able to donate to this exceptional and worthy cause. And we as a company hope they enjoy the t-shirts. We would also like to thank Jessica at Square Peg Promotions for putting us in touch with this amazing foundation.
